My second short story, “The New Year’s Party” is out this week–and it’s my second foray into contemporary romance!
I’ve always loved the magic of New Year’s, but especially THIS year, I’ve been extra grateful for that idea of second chances. This past year held so much hardship and heartache for my wife and me–we lost our beloved cat, and had a lot of problems getting our house fixed up. So, as I always do, I really wanted to explore that metaphor that everyone understands and lives through: of having everything fall apart in your life…and then being given that second chance at it all again by writing a story about it.
Juline, the main character of “The New Year’s Party,” loses the love of her life early in the year to a break up, so as New Year’s gets closer, she starts to do what we all do–think back on the year and make promises for the year to come. Little does she know that she’s going to get a second chance at love…
So, without further ado, here’s the book trailer for “The New Year’s Party!”
